From the President
On behalf of the KDNA committee, I am pleased to welcome you to the Association’s new web site..
Kingston & District Netball Association, since amalgamation in1999 is an Association run by its member clubs. We work together to promote netball in the Kingston and surrounding areas. With an ever expanding competition, communication to all our members has become a bit of a problem but nothing we can’t handle. We see this web site as integral part of getting the message out and it was designed to make it as user friendly as humanly possible…I hope you find the information you require here.
Briefly the site is about how the Association works. You’ll find the names and contact details of KDNA Committee members and Club representatives. There is a copy of the bylaws and pages providing detailed information about the organization's fixtures ladders that has been collated into the various age groups and sections. There are pages dedicated to Rep and various links that depict the pathway for a budding young netballer. We feel this information is designed to help you become acquainted with your organization, but if you still have questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
If you are a new member just checking us out or what we are about, or you are trying to find a club for your child, Please look over the enclosed list of club representatives and join those that interest your child.. Our competition days are held most Saturdays and coincide with school holidays come up and see us and check out the uniforms and take it from there …. For Clubs to become stronger, we encourage all members to be involved in one or more of the standing committees.
After browsing the site, you’ll agree those responsible have done a great job in delivering another great KDNA service.
Cheers
Greg Papworth
KDNA President
KDNA History
Kingston & Districts Netball Association was born in December 1999 as an amalgamation of two associations – Cheltenham Heights and Moorabbin.
Prior to KDNA, Cheltenham Heights (19XX – 1999); at the time of amalgamation was under the Presidency of, Joan Young and Moorabbin (19XX – 1999) at the time of amalgamation was under the Presidency of, Karen Byers.
Both Associations worked closely together to amalgamate both associations which was then born under the guidance of Peter Hidson until December 2004.
In the four years of KDNA – Peter Hidson and Committee of Management worked tirelessly to ensure only the best for KDNA. This now sees eight newly resurfaced courts which provides a safer playing environment for players. They also worked very closely with Cheltenham Secondary College to build an indoor centre which has two netball courts fully utilized by KDNA outside of school hours. Representative playing squads at KDNA are of a high standard with well experienced coaches.
KDNA are now proud to announce a further pathway for our players to follow should they choose; and that is an alliance with Melbourne Central State Netball League. This provides a pathway for selected players to State League Netball and beyond.
KDNA now administers some 180 teams with games on Saturdays and Wednesday night competition.
